Job Overview

The Propositions Executive plays a key supporting role in the development of compelling, insight-led marketing propositions for our clients. You will help translate client briefs into clear, engaging and commercially viable ideas, working closely with internal teams to bring propositions to life.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a strong foundation in proposition development. You’ll develop your strategic thinking, creativity and commercial understanding, while contributing to high-quality outputs that reflect MLP’s expertise, personality and standards.

You’ll support across multiple stages of the proposition process – from research and idea generation through to deck creation and delivery – gaining exposure to both client work and new business opportunities.

This role is designed as a foundation into proposition development at MLP.

Key Responsibilities

Proposition Development Support

  • Support the development of tailored marketing propositions that align with client needs and objectives.
  • Assist in translating client briefs into clear ideas and structured outputs.
  • Conduct research into market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour to inform proposition thinking.
  • Help build engaging presentation decks and supporting materials to bring propositions to life.
  • Support the creation of financial models and costing under guidance from senior team members.
  • Ensure all work is delivered to a high standard, with strong attention to detail and clear communication.
  • Client & Project Support
  • Support the wider team in preparing for client meetings, pitches and presentations.
  • Take notes, track actions and help ensure follow-ups are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining strong day-to-day client relationships through organised and proactive support.
  • Help develop an understanding of client objectives, audiences and competitive landscapes.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with internal teams (design, partnerships, account management) to support proposition development.
  • Assist in briefing creative teams with clear direction and context.
  • Support the transition from proposition into delivery, ensuring materials are complete and aligned.
  • Contribute to partnership research and help identify brands that could enhance client propositions.
  • Learning & Development
  • Build knowledge of loyalty, engagement and proposition design through hands-on experience.
  • Stay curious and proactive in learning about industry trends, new ideas and best practice.
  • Seek feedback and continuously improve output quality and strategic thinking.
  • Contribute ideas in team sessions, bringing energy and fresh thinking to the team.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a marketing, customer engagement, loyalty, proposition, account management or commercial role.
  • Experience researching customer needs, market trends and competitor activity.
  • Experience creating presentations, reports or client-facing documents.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to turn information into clear, engaging and commercially relevant content.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within financial services, insurance or another regulated industry.
  • Experience within a marketing agency, loyalty agency or consultancy environment.
  • Exposure to loyalty programmes, customer engagement, rewards or customer experience initiatives.
  • Experience supporting pitches, tenders or new business proposals.
  • Understanding of proposition development and how customer propositions drive commercial outcomes.

  • Comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues across different teams and disciplines.
  • Confident building relationships with internal stakeholders, partners and clients.
  • Positive, enthusiastic and eager to learn and develop new skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to create professional, client-ready presentations and supporting documentation.
  • An interest in loyalty, customer engagement, consumer psychology or financial services would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in Marketing, Business, Psychology, Communications or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
