Our Herd’s Favourite Loyalty Programmes

Caffe Nero App

At MLP, we live and breathe loyalty. So, we thought it was time to turn the tables and ask our herd which loyalty programmes they’re loving right now.

From coffee stamps that save your day, to points that fly you across the world, and bricks that bring family together, the best loyalty programmes do more than reward. They connect people and create moments that stick. They’re built on more than transactions, they build loyalty that lasts.

So let’s take a look at the loyalty programmes that have won over our herd…

LEGO: LEGO Insiders – Sarah Turner

Sarah’s favourite loyalty programme is LEGO Insiders. But it’s not just about points for her. What she loves most is how it taps into something deeper. It celebrates creativity, encourages shared moments, and gives genuine value back through exclusive rewards, early access, and content you won’t find anywhere else.

Sarah and her daughter saved points together to buy a set they built together, it turned collecting into connecting. She thinks it’s a great example of how loyalty can be both practical and powerful when it’s built on joy. She says the programme also makes her feel like she’s part of something bigger, a community of fans who share the same passion and imagination. That sense of belonging is hard to beat. Plus, the surprise freebies, discounts, and early access drops always feel like little gifts just for being part of it.

Caffè Nero: Nero Rewards – Elliot Makin

Caffe Nero App

Elliot’s a big fan of Nero Rewards, because they keep it simple. Buy nine drinks and you get the tenth one free. No need for confusing points systems or complex mechanics just to get a cup of coffee. He also loved the seasonal campaigns they run. Their Christmas Cracker campaign give members a digital cracker with every coffee, they just open the app, give their phone a shake, and prizes pop up instantly. From extra stamps, free drinks to a stay at Champneys, it’s a festive campaign that adds real value.

And for Elliot, the timing couldn’t have been better. After watching Manchester United lose 3–0 to Bournemouth on a cold, wet December night, he headed over to Caffè Nero after the game, scanned the app and landed himself a free coffee. It didn’t turn the night around completely, but it definitely took the sting out of the result. He now says it’s a moment he won’t forget, because in his words, “Nero was there for me when United weren’t.”

American Express: American Express Membership Rewards – Eve Mailey

American Express Card

Eve absolutely loves her American Express Membership Rewards card because it transforms everyday spending into meaningful rewards. With one point earned for every pound spent, even the most ordinary purchases start to feel like they’re adding up to something exciting.

It gives her an excuse to be a shopaholic, especially when there are offers to earn multi-points when shopping with select partners like ASOS and Boots. She can also get her points boosted by inviting friends to join, and they’ll receive some too.

Her favourite part has to be the ability to transfer Membership Rewards points to Avios, the frequent flyer currency of British Airways. Her boyfriend recently moved to Arizona, USA, and all of her accumulated points mean she can fly over to see him for a fraction of the cost, nothing can beat that for her!

Greggs: Greggs Rewards – Andy Darlington

Greggs Rewards App

Andy’s been using the Greggs Rewards app for a while now and says it’s one of the best loyalty schemes he’s come across. It’s easy to use, just scan the app when you buy something, and it collects stamps in categories like drinks, sandwiches, and sweet treats. Once you’ve collected enough in one category, you get a freebie, which he says always feels like a nice little win.

He likes that it doesn’t take forever to earn a reward. If you’re a regular, you’ll find you’re getting something back often. Plus, there are surprise perks like birthday treats or the odd freebie thrown in, which he says it makes it feel that bit more personal. The app itself is straightforward and handy, you can pay through it or order ahead to save time. Overall, Andy says it’s just a really solid rewards app that gives you genuine value without any hassle. Definitely worth having if you’re a regular at Greggs.
